EA Sports WRC Trailer, Release Date, Features, Screenshots and More

EA revealed their trailer for EA Sports WRC today along with some of the features, screenshots, release date and more. Developed by Codemasters, the same team behind the highly praised DiRT Rally series, EA Sports WRC is scheduled to release on November 3 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. All players that pre-order will get three days of early access starting October 31 and five VIP passes, each containing additional post-launch content, vanity packs consisting of liveries and apparel.

“EA SPORTS WRC is the purest form of motorsport where every stage is a fight against the clock, the terrain, and yourself,” said Ross Gowing, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “This is the rally game we’ve always wanted to make, combining our studio’s deep knowledge and expertise with the power of the official WRC license representing the pinnacle of rally motorsport. The game’s new engine has enabled us to push rally to the edge of what’s deemed possible, and the additional features, including Builder and Moments, give players even more ways to interact with the sport they love.”

Utilizing the Unreal Engine and DiRT Rally series physics, EA Sports WRC offers more extensive and detailed stages than ever before. It features 18 official FIA World Rally Championship locations, covering over 600km of demanding asphalt, gravel and snow terrains. The game includes 10 contemporary WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC vehicles, as well as 68 iconic rally cars spanning six decades of the sport. Developed in collaboration with official WRC teams and manufacturers like Ford, Toyota and Hyundai, each vehicle is expertly crafted to conquer the challenges of the season. Notably, the hybrid-powered 4WD Rally1 cars, among the swiftest in the sport’s history, are capable of achieving astonishing speeds while navigating gravity-defying jumps, deteriorating surfaces and challenging weather conditions.

The advanced Dynamic Handling System elevates Codemasters’ original model, delivering the most lifelike off-road experience to date. Informed by input from drivers, including former FIA Junior WRC title contender and 2023 FIA European Rally Championship ERC3 champion, as well as game designer Jon Armstrong, players can opt for a professional driver setup that closely mirrors real racing experiences. For newcomers, the handling can be personalized, allowing them to make adjustments as they navigate the ultimate player-versus-environment off-road challenge. The commitment to realism extends to audio, with every car meticulously replicated, and updated pace notes, including simplified instructions for novice drivers, provide crucial information as players tackle each stage.

The introduction of the Builder feature fulfills the dream of those eager to create their own modern-era rally car. This involves selecting the chassis, body shells, and crucial mechanical components, followed by personalizing the interior and exterior and then adding your unique touch with the livery editor. After putting your car through its paces and making necessary adjustments, you can compete in the World Championship against top-notch competition in the WRC.

EA Sports WRC will unite fans with a 32-player cross-platform multiplayer mode, allowing for thrilling competitions among friends. Utilizing EA Racenet, EA’s companion app for racing, Clubs serve as community-driven hubs offering customized multi-surface tournaments that can take place at any location and time of year. In addition to personalized events, there are Moments, updated daily in-game, providing players with the opportunity to relive pivotal moments from the 2023 season and classic events from the sport’s history.
