Well, Thanksgiving is a little over a week away, and that means my dad will be handing out Christmas money to his three children next Thursday. Factoring out my expenses, such as Christmas gifts, I will only have money to buy one game right away. Should I get Left 4 Dead or NBA 2K9?

I played the Left 4 Dead demo and really enjoy the game, not to mention I would be buying it for the PC so it would be ten bucks cheaper. As far as NBA 2K9, I have been waiting with bated breath to play it ever since MY Pistons got AI from Denver. Eventually I am sure I will be able to buy both, I just want to know which one I should buy first.

So...I need some help deciding by next week. Thanks.

Nebraska - 27 @ Wake Forest - 38

9/5/2009 - Slimshoom

Winston-Salem, North Carolina --
After giving up 34 points and over 400 yards of offense to Marshall in their season opener last week, many people thought they would be absolutely torched yesterday when the #22 Nebraska Cornhuskers came into Winston-Salem.

However, after forty minutes of wacky and wild football in North Carolina, it was the Deacons that stood victorious at home thanks to their defense. Nebraska Quarterback Kody Spano made just his second career start in college, and boy did it show. Spano threw six interceptions yesterday, mostly because of the tremendous amount of pressure the Deacons had all game long.

It's not often that a defensive back gets multiple sacks in a game, but thats just what Wake Forest strong safety Jordan Williams did yesterday. Because of the switch to a 3-3-5 defensive scheme, Williams was able to blitz often. He ended up breaking the Wake Forest record for sacks in a game by bringing Spano down four times.

The only aspect of the game where the Deacons were outplayed in was special teams, especially on kickoffs. For the first time in school history, the Cornhuskers returned two consecutive kickoffs for touchdowns. Niles Paul wrapped up the first half with a 103 yard return to make it a 21-17 game. The Cornhuskers got the ball to start the second half, and the other return man, Chris Brooks, promptly took the kick back 91 yards to give the Cornhuskers their only lead of the game.

It was once again the running game that paced the Deacons offense in their second win of 2009. The Deacons racked up 191 yards on the ground, as opposed to only 48 by the Cornhuskers. Four of Wake Forest's five touchdowns came of the rushing variety, as both Josh Adams and Kevin Harris rushed for more than fifty yards and two touchdowns.

This win was a big one for the Deacons, but they have another big game next week. Starting with the game today, the Deacons enter a four game stretch that will test the Deacons' mettle. They start off next week with their conference opener against rival North Carolina. They then have back-to-back contests against ranked opponents, as they play Clemson and Florida State in consecutive weeks.

Freshman free safety Erik Clarke won the Defensive Player of the Week award for the country this week, as he had a career day in his second college start. Clarke not only brought the ballcarrier down fifteen times, but he also picked off three passes in a gargantuan effort. Clarke is the first freshman from Wake Forest to win the award.

Wake Forest - 43 @ Marshall - 34

8/29/2009 - Huntington, West Virginia

The Demon Deacons didn't expect this much of a fight from the Thundering Herd. But in front of the hometown crowd, Marshall put up 34 points and 400 offensive yards against a Demon Deacons defense that is young and inexperienced, and showed that on the field yesterday.

"Our defense has to improve....bottom line," Wake Forest Head coach Jim Grobe said in his post-game press conference yesterday. "We can't expect our offense to carry us every game, especially when we start playing teams with better defenses."

On the offensive side of the ball it was either feast or famine for the Deacons, who on occasion showed the ability to score from anywhere on the field at any given time. However, five turnovers, including three fumbles, hampered the offensive attack and is causing some Wake Forest fans to shake their heads.

The game was played in a torrential downpour, and both teams turned the ball over at a torrid pace. There were ten combined turnovers yesterday, five by each time. Six were interceptions, and four were fumbles recovered by the opposing defense.

Speaking about fumbles, there was one early by Marshall Quarterback Brian Anderson that was scooped up by freshman defensive end Raymond Houston and returned all the way for a touchdown that spotted the Deacons a 14-0 lead.

Both quarterback Riley Skinner and running back Josh Adams had solid opening weekend performances and paced the offense. Skinner threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions. The senior also rushed for 75 yards on 13 carries and found the endzone once running the ball. Adams rushed for 139 yards on 31 carries but did not score.

Junior Marshall Williams is stepping into some big shoes, as he will take the spot of D.J. Boldin, who had one of the best seasons ever for a Deacons receiver in 2008. Williams caught six touchdown passes last season, and got off to a good start yesterday by leading all receivers with six receptions for 93 yards, including a 49 yard touchdown catch. Taking over for former All-American kicker Sam Swank, sophomore John Stamper hit both of his field goal attempts in his first collegiate action ever.

After a crushing loss in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons are ready to take the field after their second 10+ win season in school history. The first game of the season is less than 24 hours away, as the Deacons will travel to Huntington, Virginia to face Marshall in their season opener.

The Demon Deacons will once again compete in the ACC Atlantic Division and will make another trip to a bowl, but their young defense could cost them some games.

Many people who play NCAA 09 Football will tell you that the Heisman difficulty setting is "broken". I disagree with this statement, as my 2008 season with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Heisman was one of the best seasons I have ever played in any sports video games.

Not to say Heisman doesn't have its problems. Turnovers are still rampant as they are on any difficulty level, but those can be cut down with sliders and intelligent play on your part. The computer may seem unstoppable at times, especially if they have a good game, but with some good play calling and some skill you can stop them.

My major problem with Heisman is the lack of low-scoring, defensive battles. Both the computer and I put up huge numbers in nearly every game. It seemed that every game I was giving up 350+ yards, with a pretty good Wake Forest defense.

But, if you can overcome the problems, playing on Heisman will give you a challenging game against nearly every opponent, and pretty realistic stats at the end of the season. In 2008, I had four instant classics, and I won all of them.

I beat Clemson on a last-second touchdown pass, overcame a 17 point deficit in the fourth to beat Miami, had good defensive stops in the fourth to beat Ole Miss, and got lucky with a late interception against Virginia.

My point is, don't listen to all the people saying that Heisman is "broken". Play a couple of games on it, see if you like it, and then decided for yourself.
