Here what's being said in one of the threads.....
My Thoughts on our Boxing Game (Title Bout Championship Boxing)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this was written by board member wildhawke11 (OOTP)
Below is a copy of a post i did some years back when we were trying to think of ways to drum up more support for our game and i still stand by it today.
The real problem is good as this game is the average buyer of computer games is not that interested in a pure simulation of boxing. They have been brought up on flashy graphics, first person shoot ups. Games that scare the **** out of you and loud bangs from sound cards and speakers. Next to these games our game seems very dull to them. If you really want to make money you have to give the average buyer what he wants. Look at it from the average persons point of view. They download the demo of our game. Then just sit there watching a page full of text strolling down. The names of Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Roberto Duran and fighters like Sam Langford mean nothing to them. After a while of watching pretty much the same text in a few fights. They are bored stiff and look for another game in which they can at least take part in some real time action. No sad to say most people would have no interest in wasting there lives watching text stroll by on a computer screen.
Our small band of boxing lovers see it entirely different, We don't just see the text strolling by. We use our imagination and see the crowd cheering as both fighters make there entrance into the arena. Before the bell even sounds in the game. We see Mike Tyson at his peak pacing up and down in the ring just waiting with hatred in his heart for the man they call the greatest Muhammad Ali in the opposite corner who is waving and playing up to his adoring fans. The text in itself is only part of it, to us we see it as if we were there at ringside. Our imagination does the rest because we understand the excitement that a big fight can bring. The average person who does not follow and love boxing can never experience this in his mind, and therefore most will never fall in love like we have with this game. The mind and your own imagination is so powerful The pictures that you can see in your own mind with a little help from a few words can never be beaten, That why so many great books when turned into a film never come up to the expectations that you were hoping for. How many times have you heard people say "Yes it was a good film but i thought the book itself was so much better"
Have to say though that i feel that add ons that will be hopefully coming will perhaps take Title Bout on to another level. and hopefully appeal to more then us die hard old time boxing lovers. I to am a tester on the boxing games and having done a little boxing myself as a young man as well as being a lover of the fight game for more years then i care to remember. I can with hand on heart tell you guys in my humble opinion right now there is nothing on the market at present that comes close to a decent boxing simulation as does Title Bout.
Thank You Gentlemen for hopefully taking the time to read this.
Cheers To You From UK ------ Danny
Title Bout Championship boxing fans are not drawn into games like Fight Night because it's not deep enough for them. I'll have to agree. The Fight Night series has many options to be a great game, but right now it's content just being a contender .
If The Fight Night series stepped it's game up they would have more buyers across the board. They need to really sit in a room and study Title Bout Championship Boxing and Victorious boxer. There is a great amount of ideas that can be taking from these games.

I'm hoping Facebreaker was geared more toward casual, arcade fans and Fight Night Round 4 is geared more toward die-hard sim boxing fans. Facebreaker wasn't a game a true boxing fan would be interested in. Facebreaker could have been fun if it was a little slower. It had a decent feature in it's share your created character.I just want Fight Night Round 4 to be for us die-hard sim fans. I hoping everything is right and exact. The new producer Brian(Brizzo)is a true boxing fan,but lets hope his hands aren't tied.

I want a boxing game with a deep, clear and realistic presentation. I want screens that say wow, this is boxing! I want to really explore and set up matches. I want to know about other matches that are happening around the world and being able to watch them if I wanted. Boxing videogames need to take us where other sports games are at. Don King's Prizefighter poster maker was a good idea that EA or some other company should use.

The ultimate boxing game would be part Fight Night, part Title Bout Championship Boxing, part Smackdown vs. Raw. Fight Night has been making strides to be a great game, but after the graphics and some decent gameplay many of us are left dry looking for more. The career mode has lost it's interest. It's not realistic and doesn't have replay value. Now, if Fight Night had a deep presentation like Title Bout Championship boxing it would really grab our attention and make us want to do more or spend extra time with the game. I know Title Bout Championship Boxing is a text-based game but, it has a large fan base(mid-20's and older) that EA should be trying to get too. Title Bout Championship Boxing. This is what Title Bout has to offer.-Title Bout Championship Boxing features more than 6600 fighters, past and present, including all divisions and all champions, individually rated in over three dozen categories. We know EA can't add all these boxers,at least give us the options and slots to put them in the game. I think all the divisions should be in the game. What true boxing fan wouldn't want this? Again, we can feel them with missing boxers.
-Statistics that's right I said, stats!
Let's face it! Statistics are major in sports. Boxing isn't a team sport but, Title Bout provides almost every statistic possible and does so in a number of unique ways, and goes well beyond the expected "won/lost/knockouts" stats.
Fighter statistics are not only tracked fight-by-fight but also round-by-round. Want to know how many of a fighter's knockouts have been scored in the first round? No problem! Want to know if he's ever been stopped in the last round of a fight? We've got that covered, too. Connect percentages for/against; average rounds-per-fight/per-stoppage; it's all there!
Title Bout includes twenty-two specific Top Ten categories. Those categories, when modified by available parameters, result in over 1500 different lists. Getting a list of the ten fighters who average the most punches per round in ten or more fights takes only a few clicks of a button. Make it more specific by modifying the parameters to include a specific division, or a specific nationality, or for a specific year! And when you check out the new Rankings, don't be surprised to see a fighter ranked as the #1 contender by one organization be all the way down at #5 by another. Stuff like this would have boxing fanatics and casual gamers hooked
Smackdown vs. Raw has a large fan base, some are not even wrestling fans. It's Create A Wrestler feature has people trying create the ultimate likeness of wrestlers;many of them look realistic game -wise. If Fight Night could add the many features that Smackdown vs. Raw has to it's Create A Wrestler they wouldn't have to worry about signing certain boxers.
*NBA 2K9 has a great feature that allows you to upload other people creations to your game this would be sweet.
If Fight Night or any game maker was to incorporate all these into thier boxing game. It would be a sure money maker.

RATINGS
* Power-Determines how hard your overall punches are. This also effects the individual punch stats.
EX: If Power is 80 and Cross power is 100 then the Cross will do full damage.
*Hand Speed-Determines how fast your punches are.
*Foot Speed-Determines how fast your footwork is.
*Upper body Speed-Determines how fast you can move upperbody.
*Defense-Determines how good your defense is.
*Body-Determines how well you take it to the body.
*Chin-determine if the boxer gets up from a KD.
*Durability-determines how much damage you can take before you start to visit the canvas.
*Heart-determine if the boxer "gives up" like taking a knee and not getting up, or how hard they fight when they are clearly losing.
*Technique-Determines how compact or wide your punches are.
*Stamina-determines how long it takes before you get fatigue.
EXAMPLES
Power stat:
Lower than 50 - punches as hard as Cory Spinks
50 - average puncher
60-70 - decent power
80 - good pop in punches can KO with a well timed punch
90-95 - Power punchers like Pacquiao, V. Klitschko, Mayorga, etc.,
96-98 - Marciano, Foreman, Tua, etc.,
99-100 - "Fists of God" one hit its over, your breaking ribs, jaws, arms, everything.
It should be damn near impossible to get either 99 or 100.
HIGH CHIN RATING & LOW DURABLE RATING will cause the fighter to go down much quicker then usual but really won't be be hurt. So you'll basically be more accessible to Flash Knockdowns.
LOW CHIN RATING; HIGH DURABLE RATING will cause the fighter to be more easier to hurt and be "out on his feet" but he won't fall so easy. He'll be more accessible to stoppages by the ref.
GAMEPLAY
*Body punches are more effective like in VB.
*Boxers with long arms in ineffective in close.
*Knockdown/out system should be determine by either fatigue, momentum, angle of punch, power of punch, cumulation of punishment, or all 5
-Better KO records for people that have high power ratings
-EA challenges. Like to score 10 consecutive 1st round KOs or to win World titles in 4 different divisions
