Kings @ Spurs
The first game of the opening round had the Sacramento Kings Visiting the San antonio Spurs in an eight verse one seed. The Eight seeded Kings led by Terry Cummings 29 points and 10 rebounds and Kobe Bryants 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter defeated the number one overall seed Spurs 101-96. The spurs were led in scoring by Wesley Matthews scoring 26 points off the bench and Oscar Robertson had 18 points and 9 assists. In this victory the Kings have now stolen home court advantage in the series heading into game two. Mavericks @ Jazz
The 4 and 5 matchup will be an interesting match up as the Mavericks led by Michael Jordan are a team that plays small ball starting James Worthy at Power Forward and Paul Milsap at Center using Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah off the bench. While the Jazz have a huge inside presence. They start Lamarcus Aldride and Chris Webber, and the bench include sixth man of the year David Lee, Roy Hibbert, and Brook Lopez as the team will always have the big man advantage they are also led by floor general Chris Paul. The Jazz were able to hold off the Mavericks in game 1 behind a big game from Chris Paul who had 24 points 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Lamarcus Aldridge also had 24 points. The Mavericks Lou Hudson led the way scoring 27 points, and Michael Jordan had 26 points 6 rebounds and 10 assists in the losing effort.
