WEEK 5
Vikings vs Rams
Final Score: 21 - 17 Vikings

Frame 1: Berrian with 1st reception. 2nd play from start of game. Takes it to the house 60+ yards for the TD.

Frame 2: Boller standing tall in the pocket with pressure all around him. Delivers a strike with pressure in his face while getting hit for the TD. Tie ball game 7-7 in the first quarter.

Frame 3: Harvin comes down with a ball that no one knew how it got through. Then uses his speed to cut to the sideline and take it to the house 55 yards...TD. 14-7 Vikings up.

Frame 4: Big 4th and 1. Vikings send the heat off the blind side of Boller who takes a monster sack and huge turning point of the game. Given the Vikings the ball back and setting them up for the finial game winning drive. Huge turning point in the game.

Frame 5: Berrian with only his second catch of the game. This one goes 68 yards and puts the Vikings in the lead to seal the deal and win the ball game. WOW what a game.

WEEK 3 VIKINGS VS 49ERS

Vikings 35 - 49ers 17

Frame 1
- Rosenfels with happy feet in the pocket but manages to find Harvin with the cross over the middle and uses his feet for yards and TD after the catch.

Frame 2 - Harvin later in the game with a nice 76 yard TD return. Putting that cut back ability to use.

Frame 3 - Jackson throwing with some touch over the lineback. Jackson had two really nice throws in the game. One with a pump fake and back the endzone but it got cut short.

Frame 4 - The worst low light I could get. Peterson going down on this play with a broken collier bone. He will be out most the regular season. 10 weeks out.

WEEK 4 vs Dolphins

Ok well I dominated the Phins on the ground and just stuck to giving it to Lynch all the way down the field and then hooking up with 2 play action passes. One for a TD and one for a big gain. Both times on a 8 in the box Dolphin defense. For some reason a PA TD pass to Owens got cut way short on the replay and could not even see the TD.

Preseason/In-Season Free Agency
***Credit goes to Tjdasportsguy***

Waiver wire priority list. This will be based strictly on each team's overall rating. Lowest will be first, 2nd lowest will be 2nd, etc.

Each subsequent season beginning waiver priority list order will be based on the previous season's win/loss percentage. Worst is first, etc.

The waiver list will not reset each franchise week. Once a team makes a successful claim, they go to the bottom of the list.

Waiver claims should be submitted to me via PM here on OS or through e-mail which is listed on the league website.

When submitting a waiver claim, please indicate which player you'd like to drop, if your roster is full. If you've played Fantasy Football, you'll know how this goes. If your roster is full and you don't give me a player to release, your claim will not go through.

Claim should include
1 - Dropped player
1 - Free Agent Request

Each Day I review my inbox and give bids away as such.

Trades

There will be no trade approval process. You're all adults. I trust you. If two teams agree to a trade, then the trade goes through, no questions asked.

NO TRADES with CPU teams
Draft picks WILL NOT be trade able.

We will observe the real life NFL's trading deadline of Week 6. No trades may be made after Week 6's games have been played.

Offseason Free Agency

**This is still under construction and might change**

At the end of each season, each team will be required to release players according to the following:
  • 1 90+ overall rated player
  • 2 80-89 overall rated players
  • 4 70-79 overall rated players
In the event a team does not have any 90+ rated players, that team will then release an additional 80-89 overall rated player.

At that point, we will conduct a 7 round free agent draft. The free agent draft order will mimic the NFL Draft order of that same season, but with a twist. We'll be doing the free agency draft snake style. Again, if you've done Fantasy Football, you'll know how this goes

GAME TIME
  • 12 minute quarters, using the 15-second playclock runoff
I just want everyone to understand a route we are going to go as far as gameplay time. We are going to use the 12 minute quarters, using the 15-second playclock runoff. Now what this does is leave 15 secs on the play clock once you are walking up to the line. Now some people are going to have to adjust to this. Reason being is that you won't have time to do all kinds of hot routes, adjustments, motions, etc. What this will do is focus everyone MUCH more on playing calling from the play call screen.

Scores are still coming out realistic and the amount of plays is still slightly lower than normal. But what I want to try and prevent is given people to much time at the line to call all kinds of hot routes, motions, etc to take advantage of. It is Cheesy, because a real team does 1 adjustment at the line with having time for 2 being max.

We want this to FEEL like real football. This is what this will simulate, focus on play calling. I know all my APF heads in here (Looking at u Kasey) are really going to dig this. If guys need help on play calling just hit me up. I mainly tend to focus on defense but I also know my way around the offense.

For the guys who don't visit the APF forums much. I suggest reading through this thread. Alot of helpful stuff in there.

Anyone who has dove into the world of PC flight sims. Knows that having a good head tracking device is a must if you wanna live. Being able to keep your hand on your joystick and look out the window by slightly moving your head is HUGE. It is one of those products that you really don't understand what you are missing until you try it for yourself. Once you have flown with one, you could never go back to trying to use the hat switch to look around. It is so natural and easy to work it comes second nature.

Since this technology has been around for a little while now and we have seen it branch off into other games such as ARMA, F1 racing titles and of course the flight sims. It would seem like the logical next step for headtracking would be the sport genres.

Imaging the ability to play madden in first person point of view. Then tie in a head tracking software. Next thing you know you are sprinting down the sideline looking back to the QB trying to pin point the pass coming in or playing QB and being able to look left and scan the field, the pocket is closing around you, you whip your head around to the right and see the defensive end getting free so you sprint to the left. All while you continue to scan the field looking for the open man.

Open this up to just about any sports franchise out there and you can see the possibilities. It would greatly ramp up the level of immersion. Being on the field, on the ice, on the hard wood floor, etc.

The main question concerning this would be. How will gamers take to not seeing the entire field? Will the loss of the "gods eye view" hamper this from ever getting to the masses?

Only time will tell if this technology ever advances into the sports genres. I will sit here praying one day I get to play as a middle linebacker hawk eyeing the QB, waiting to jump the snap and smash him to the turf. Until then I will continue to be puppet master over a complete team of players.
