A few of you may know AJ Dembroski. He worked on the last two editions of Madden and before that, he was one of the top members of the sports gaming community.
Well last night he went on an epic mad rant about EA, how they treat games, and how they see games. In his own words, he feels EA treats games in a 'robotic' type of way.
Adem's biggest complaint of his time at EA seems to be that management ... Read More

Gaming is at an exciting point right now.
The old ways of gaming -- the going to the store and buying the game. The unpackaging. The trading old disks with your friends and playing a static game on one console days are over.
The future rests with some combination of console integration (of sorts) and mobility. In the next several years, we're going to see people demand a dynamic gaming experience

Conference championship weekend is here, where did the season go exactly?
I'm not sure either, but NCAA Football has a thing or two to say about how things are going to fare this weekend. The first thing that can be said is a simple, "Where are the big matchups?"
For all the hype they get, conference title games are largely huge flops. Florida State vs. Georgia Tech? Nebraska vs. Wisconsin? ... Read More

In case you were living under a rock, out in the woods, or some combination in between -- NBA 2K13 received a big patch update yesterday with tons of fixes. I managed to play through a couple of games to see that, indeed, NBA 2K13 plays a better game of basketball now which was neither unexpected nor surprising in any way.
The first and biggest thing I noticed was that rebounding indeed was largely tuned and fixed. ... Read More

One of the best parts of NCAA Football 13 is easily the playbooks and the unique formations you'll encounter -- because when you have over 100 different teams, you are bound to encounter some unique offenses and formations in football.
My favorite formations in NCAA Football 13 are in no way a gauge of their effectiveness, but rather in my personal preference to run them. There are a lot of great formations and ... Read More

This is a screenshot of last years game...but it's also a screenshot of FIFA Soccer 13 because the games are identical.
FIFA Soccer was one of the best sports games I played at the Vita Launch in February of this year. It seemed to closely mimic the console versions sans a few gameplay details and my hopes were high for the franchise as it entered it's second year on the Vita console. What we ... Read More

What if this were still an out of conference matchup?
Indulge me for a minute. Let's assume that the last few years of conference realignment never happened. Let's assume conferences are where they were in 2008.
You know, back when the Big XII had twelve teams, the Big Ten had that awkward 11, and the SEC was sitting around 12 teams strong.
Back when things made geographical sense for the most ... Read More

Week 12 is here and with it, NCAA Football 13 is set to simulate the top three matchups of the week! While there aren't any HUGE matchups this week, there are plenty of roadblocks for the Nation's top teams.
#13 Stanford (8-2) at #2 Oregon (10-0)
Line: Oregon -20.5
Stanford travels to Eugene to play the Oregon Ducks in this week's game of the week. Vegas believes this game is going to be a blowout,

In a year where the Orioles and not the Red Sox contended for the division crown with the Yankees - one has to figure the rest of the AL East has to suddenly have some hope that they too can do that.
Of course, the Rays have already successfully competed. And the Red Sox are, well they're the Red Sox.
So by the rest of the AL East, I obviously mean the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays finished ... Read More

One thing that has always been apparent in sports gaming is that people prefer different types of experiences with their games.
For instance, while one guy might tweak sliders and play on All-Pro, another might leave the game on the default Pro setting without touching a thing -- perfectly content with the game they have.
One thing that I've been wondering lately is how does everyone see their games' ... Read More
