BAP Goalie Update #3
Posted on October 14, 2009 at 05:22 AM.
Well we played our second home game of the season against our first home game opponent, the Nashville Predators. It was the first game action for me since the 3-0 win against Edmonton, and we were 4-0-0 heading into the game. Alex Auld was in net for the games against Calgary and Vancouver, and we won 4-3 and 5-3, respectively.

Unfortunately, we were shutout by Nashville 2-0, who only managed 18 shots on net. I was perfect for the first 48:11 of the game until Marcel Goc picked up a loose puck in front that I initially made a split-save. I don't know how I missed the second chance shot. I was in position in the butterfly, but it went right under my left arm.

We outplayed the Preds the entire game, but it was just one of those games where all the bounces went in Nashville's favor. At 14:56 of the final frame, Jason Arnott took a sauldering pass from J.P. Dumont in the slot and fired a snapshot past me. I was pretty bummed that Nisky wasn't able to knock the puck away, because his stick was right in the passing lane. However, because of my assumption, I left an open net for Arnott to shoot the puck.

Preds goalie Pekka Rinne stopped all 32 shots he faced, while I made 16 saves.

It was our team's first loss of the year, and I feel bad about it, but the other goalie was solid.

I was told I would start in net for the Boston game on Friday, and hopefully we will be able to bounce back as a team. Boston was blown out by Colorado in the last game 7-3, so I'm sure they will be looking to fix a few things as well as us. It should be a good game. I always love playing against the East because it's always nice to see players from the other conference.

At 3:22 AM...Green out.
