The Amur Leopard, the rarest and most vibrantly colored leopard.
I first stumbled upon this cat when I was doing some research into the decline of certain wild felidae.
There was something special that struck me about this creature. It is saddens me that something so beautiful can be selfishly destroyed, out of sheer ignorance and carelessness.
It is now one of, if not the rarest felids out there. On the critically endangered list with an estimated 27-32 left in the wild.
Threats to this magnificent animal's decline can be contributed to:
- Poaching of leopards and their prey species
- Deforestation
- Negative impacts of inbreeding
- Development projects
- Lack of political commitment to conservation
Significant progress for conservation has been made over the last decade. And if anyone would like to be a part of it, you can donate any amount in just about any currency to:

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) provides 100% of the money that is donated via this website to Amur leopard conservation field projects.
