TeamXbox has the scoop.
"In this first video excerpt, players will learn Daniel's advice on bluffing like a pro. Daniel Negreanu's Poker School teaches the player all aspects of Texas Hold 'em using full motion video, voiceovers, and scripted in-game sequences."

1up has posted the following previews:
  • NBA '06 (PS2)
"Given that the story mode will last around 30-40 hours, there will naturally be a lot of standard football playing mixed between these cut scenes. To tie the two together, SCEA designed specific goals for the player to complete during each training exercise and game. These can be as simple as getting four assists in a game or more complicated, and there is a set number you must complete to move the story forward."
  • Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (PS2, Xbox, X360. DS)
"Naturally, every new Hawk game brings with it a new maneuver or two. THAW's big talking point is the Bertslide, which is referred to by Neversoft as "the new manual." Using the shoulder buttons, your skater will make exaggerated swerves to keep the combo intact. Another new trick is the rail stall, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. R2 plus the triangle button will halt your grind and allow for some new tricks."

MIDWAY REVEALS LAWRENCE TAYLOR AS COVER ATHLETE FOR BLITZ®: THE LEAGUE™

Former Playmakers Writer, Peter Egan, and FHM Contribute to Blitz: The League

CHICAGO, July 20, 2005 - Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment software publisher and developer, announced today that former professional football standout and Hall of Fame inductee, Lawrence Taylor, will serve as the official cover athlete for Midway’s new, unlicensed football videogame, Blitz: The League. Along with contributing his image for the game’s cover, Lawrence Taylor will also be featured as the voice and personality of Blitz: The League’s main character/athlete, Quentin Sands. Quentin is the star player and quarterback-hungry linebacker for the New York Nightmare and he plays a large role in evolving storylines that occur both on and off-the-field throughout Blitz: The League. Scheduled for release in October 2005, Blitz: The League will be available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.

"Lawrence Taylor (known by many as ‘L.T.’) was in the professional football spotlight throughout his illustrious NFL career, and we’re extremely excited to have someone of his stature and popularity working with us on the next generation of Blitz," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "Mr. Taylor succeeded in establishing a new standard by which all future linebackers would be critiqued in his sport and we feel strongly that Blitz: The League will accomplish a similar goal in the sports gaming genre. No longer bound by league censorship, we intend to bring fans the most intense and hard-hitting football experience yet and we’re confident that fans will be tremendously pleased with the football alternative that we’re providing."

Along with the announcement of Lawrence Taylor, Midway also today revealed that former Playmakers’ writer, Peter Egan, has been working alongside Midway’s development team since the game’s early conceptual stages more than one year ago to help script the in-depth and realistic storyline for Blitz: The League. A former ESPN original television series, Playmakers rapidly shot to the top of the popularity charts and established itself as a program that successfully wove intriguing, constantly-evolving storylines together as players struggled to find harmony between the life of a superstar athlete on the field and the life found in the real world off-the-field.

Additionally, Midway has arranged with men’s lifestyle magazine, FHM (For Him Magazine), the featured appearance of eleven FHM female models in Blitz: The League as cheerleaders and in various major character roles throughout the game’s storyline.

Yahoo! Games Domain has posted their preview of GripShift.
"The car physics are satisfyingly solid and just a bit sloppy, allowing players the analog joy of drifting around corners. The physics modeling is so cartoony and forgiving, in fact, that cars can vault off huge jumps and make course corrections in midair. A well-timed nitrous blast can even boost your car back up onto the track if you catch an unfortunate "off-road" moment in time! Each track has multiple objectives, from timed races to icon-collection challenges, so you'll need to attack each several times."

3DAvenue has posted their review of Street Racing Syndicate, giving it a score of 3 stars out of 5.
"SRS does have some intense racing on offer and the amount of content is impressive, however there just isn't anything here that really strikes out as unique - the cars and modifications are all pretty expected, the environments and racing modes are all generic, and the unique features, such as "girlfriends", don't add up to anything significant."

EA play has posted some new screenshots of NHL 06.
"Take complete control of every scoring opportunity with NHL® 2006. Express your shooting style with the new Sniper Stick—fire off pinpointed slap shots or execute sweet backhanders in a precise location with the flick of the right analog stick. All-new deking control adds to your arsenal by letting you skate around, between, and through opponents while maintaining full puck control. Shoot and score like never before with NHL® 2006."

GameInfoWire has posted their review of Forza Motorsport, giving it a 9 out of 10.
"In sum, if you're a sim racer fan, this is the game for you. You'll definitely want an Xbox Live subscription to get the most out of this title. If you just like the occasional race, you'll also enjoy this game. It's forgiving for beginners and helps them make the step to the next level. "Forza" may not fulfill its mission of destroying the "GT" franchise, but it is the best racer the Xbox has seen so far."

UGO has posted their preview of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland.
"In keeping with the Tony Hawk tradition, American Wasteland has a lot more to offer than just the story mode. Classic Mode will return, bringing back classic maps with old school goals to complete. There will also be plenty of create-a-mode options, along with online play on the PS2 and Xbox. From our early look, it's clear that Tony Hawk won't be going anywhere soon. Check it out when the game hits this fall."

Eurogamer has posted their review of Cricket 2005, giving it a 3 out of 10.
"Making a good game of a sport with as much subtlety and inherent inactivity as cricket must be a very difficult job. But you spend your money to be entertained, and this isn't entertaining. Even at that, spending your money to reward the effort here would be a decision you had to think long and hard about. Given the sunny weather at the moment, we'd recommend you go outside and either watch or play cricket instead."

VGCity has posted their review of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, giving it a 7 out of 10.
"As far as handheld adaptations of console games go, Midnight Club 3 is definitely an achievement. It handled the gameplay and audio aspects excellently. While I'm not a fan of most of the included music, most people will find something to like in a library of largely recognizable performers. The sound effects are limited but its not so much of a problem as the game's framerate and loading times were. Pretty to look at, but a chore to deal with, Midnight Club 3 ends up like most relationships, something to work on."
