Game Zone has posted an interview with David Perkinson, Producer of Gretzky NHL ’06.
Q: "What is the biggest challenge facing the development team when creating a game of this nature?"
David: "There are always different technical, design and logistical hurdles to overcome in any production cycle - especially when considering we shipped the last version of Gretzky on the PS2 in November, delivered the PSP launch title in March and another PSP title for October on top of the new PS2 for September – but we leap those hurdles on the fly and come out with great product that keeps the game of hockey available to it's fans."

GameSpy has posted some screenshots of WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006.
"WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 expands on THQ's popular multi-million unit-selling franchise with a number of key new features. The Buried Alive Casket match, two new wrestler attributes (Stamina and Hardcore), and a realistic momentum system all combine to turn the series away from its arcade roots and towards that of a simulation. Further additions to the game include a more robust online mode, improved character models and facial animations, a streamlined character creation mode, and more interactive backgrounds."

MSXbox World has posted their review of Outlaw Tennis, giving it a overall score of 8 out of 10.
"Outlaw Tennis is a welcome addition to the roster of Outlaw games and underneath the comedy and bravado there is actually a decent tennis game here. Some of the features are a little bland such as the fighting which is uninspiring at best and as I said earlier the courts are a little lacking."

C&VG have posted their preview of GT Legends.
"Throw in some neat additions such as a function to accelerate time so you can experience the full spectrum of lighting effects, an improved damage engine enabling you to break headlights among other things and more believable AI cars, and we reckon that GT Legends could be just the oldie to show these new-fangled kids a thing or two about driving."

Boomtown has posted some screenshots of GripShift.
"Featuring enhanced aerial physics with an intuitive control system, players will perform aerial jumps for massive hang time in puzzle-like driving challenges with multiple routes, short-cuts, loops, jumps and power ups. Eurogamer has posted the following:
  • Virtua Tennis World Tour Impressions (PSP)
"The AI is, once again, pretty much top-notch, and every player in the game offers a discernable variety in terms of tactics and playing style. But if there's one small criticism at this stage, it's that the CPU difficulty in the non-World Tour matches isn't always what it could be - but maybe we're just too bloody good for it these days! The loading times, though, are well above acceptable, with relatively bearable 30-second delays to load up a match."
  • Ridge Racer 6 For 360 Launch? (Xbox 360)
"Ridge Racer 6 may see a surprise launch alongside Microsoft's Xbox 360, according to Namco's updated U.S release calendar slotting the game in for an autumn 2005 date."

G4TV has posted the following reviews:
  • NFL Street 2: Unleashed (3/5)
"NFL Street on PSP has been paved with good intentions. It is a feature-rich title that will keep you coming back for more. The game is arguably more suited to a handheld since the fast-paced, somewhat repetitive action is best enjoyed in small doses."
  • Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee (4/5)
"What with the PSP's strong launch and subsequent trickle of good games, a great title like Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee is that much more enticing. You don't need to be a golf fanatic to get hooked on this game, which is really the only thing that matters."
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour (3/5)
"So, if you scoff at long load times and frustrating controls, grab Tiger. Otherwise, Sony's Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee offers a more enjoyable golf experience on the PSP."

Future Gamez have posted their review of Formula One 2005, giving it an 80%.
"While it's not the greatest racing game in the Playstation 2 catalogue (that candle is still held by Gran Turismo 4) it is a big return to form for Sony's Formula One series. The gameplay can be tweaked from full on arcade, or full on simulation and the online gameplay, digimask and audio visuals combine to make this a very enjoyable title."

UGO has posted the following:
  • WWE Aftershock Review (C-)
"The N-Gage isn't the most powerful portable gaming system on the market, but it can do a whole lot better than a game like WWE Aftershock. It's a shame that there's not a second wrestling title to prove that by comparison and to provide fans with a competent wrestler at the same time. However, just because it's the system's only WWE game doesn't mean you should feel forced to buy it."
  • WWE Aftershock N-Gage Trailer
"Is WWE Aftershock the best wrestling game for the N-Gage? Yes. Yes, it is. However, I should add that it's also one of the worst games available for Nokia's mobile gaming device. This may lead you to ask a follow-up question: Is Aftershock the only wrestling game out for N-Gage?"

  • GripShift Screenshots (PSP)

Blitz: The League is being developed by Midway's Chicago in collaboration with a writer from ESPN's controversial "Playmakers" TV series. Blitz: The League goes behind the glitz and glamour of the game through a revolutionary campaign mode that explores the on-field violence, off-field fallout and front-office politics of professional football."
