Bigben and Kylotonn Racing Games have announced WRC 6, scheduled to release in the fall for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The game features all 14 rounds of the 2016 WRC season, including for the first time Rally China, all the star WRC drivers and also a wide selection of WRC 2 teams and competitors from the Junior WRC category.

Read the full press release below.

After the success and the experience gained by Kylotonn Racing Games with WRC 5, the studio collected all the feedback from the community to improve the 2016 version of the game, and raise the WRC experience on consoles to a new level of realism and excitement. As its first rally game, WRC 5 was a big challenge for Kylotonn and its team of passionate developers which is now working on this new edition, with the help of an active community of racing gamers and WRC fans.

“We spent the last 8 months, since the release of WRC 5, collecting and studying all the feedback from the community to improve the experience and take it to a new level” says Alain Jarniou, Game Director at Kylotonn. “The experience gained from WRC 5 helped the team to completely understand the expectations of racing fans when it comes to rallying. Roads were too wide in WRC 5? They will be narrower and more bumpy in WRC 6. Stages were sometimes too short? We created new longer stages and reworked everything to make them longer and more challenging. These are just a few examples of the massive improvements we are bringing to WRC 6 and we already know that players will definitely appreciate these changes”, concludes Alain Jarniou.

Danger and diversity are at the heart of the World Rally Championship and WRC 6 will be the best way to feel the excitement of being in the boots of a real driver among some of the toughest conditions around the world. WRC 6 will bring a batch of new features to be announced in the coming weeks but it also takes advantage of new development tools which will increase graphics and audio perception for the players. E3 2016 in Los Angeles (June 14th – 16th) will be a first occasion to discover more about WRC 6 thanks to an impressive setup.

WRC Promoter managing director Oliver Ciesla said WRC 6 would provide an even more realistic challenge for gamers.

“If you enjoyed WRC 5, then you will love WRC 6,” he said. “The developers have introduced significant improvements to make the playing experience even more exciting and true to life, while remaining faithful to its core aims of being an all-action game which takes in classic rallies and legendary special stages on all types of road surfaces.”

WRC 6 will feature all 14 rounds of the 2016 WRC season, including for the first time Rally China, all the star WRC drivers and also a wide selection of WRC 2 teams and competitors from the Junior WRC category. eSports WRC, the first international online competition of the WRC, which was launched in January 2016 with WRC 5, will continue in WRC 6 with amendments in terms of access, rules, and format which will be unveiled nearer the release of the game.

WRC 6 will be available this autumn for PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC/Steam.

After downloading the Don Bradman Cricket Academy application, gamers will be able to create and customise their players with an unprecedented level of control.

For the first time, gamers will be able to give their players tattoos enabling them to recreate their cricketing heroes and local club into the game with complete precision for the first time. Importing cricket players from the previous Don Bradman Cricket title also allows a seamless transition to the new Don Bradman Cricket 17 game for veterans making the upgrade.

Now, we’re taking that realism further with the advanced new engine we have developed this year. The impending release of the Don Bradman Cricket Academy will give players a taste of just how far things have come.”

The Academy will also give gamers a sense of what the final Don Bradman Cricket 17 will look and feel like with its new engine, as Big Ant Studios will continue to update the application in the lead up to the big release, including the addition of playable content.

“Cricket is a sport that is loved across the globe and works so well as a video game. We are absolutely committed to growing the game and giving players the best possible cricket experience possible,” Symons said.

RIDE 2 has been announced and scheduled to arrive in the fall for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Quote:
Exciting game modes, new content, over 200 bikes to tame, an unprecedented level of customisation and new race tracks to explore. All this and much more in the new motorcycle videogame developed by Milestone Studios

The major innovation in the second edition of RIDE is the relationship between the rider and motorcycle, now more connected than ever and directly integrated in the game in the career mode. The primary goal of the game is as usual to race on the motorcycle of your dreams and, thanks to a level of customisation that includes many more new components for both rider and bike, build your own bike down to the finest detail. The collectability of bikes turns into a significant element of this new instalment with the introduction of the Two Strokes, Supermotards and the Café Racers that will add up to the bikes already available in the first version including the Nakeds, the Supersports and many others. While the bikes have a key role - reaching over 200 types - the tracks are nothing less and will now include Road Racing tracks such as Nürburgring Nordschleife, Northwest 200, and other circuits to further push the boundaries of competition.

And if that’s not enough to get all motorcycle fans intrigued, Milestone is also introducing new game modes that will accompany players on the road of the true motorcyclist, social interaction with friends, a competitive AI always ready to challenge even the most hard-core players, plus many enhancements to the graphic and physical model that will be announced in the course of the next few months.

EA Sports continues pushing out Madden NFL 17 information. Today they have posted a blog detailing gameplay improvements to man coverage, revamped zone coverage system, stopping the QB scramble more effectively and much more. They have also made improvements to online play that should result in users encountering less lag and also prevent players from attempting to boot opponents out of game sessions and forcing a loss.

Quote:
Man coverage is on the top of my list as biggest gameplay improvements. In Madden NFL 16, man press made defensive backs stick to receivers effortlessly. It forced guys to resort to motion routes, and the same type of routes, to beat it. This year, an enhanced Win/Loss system has been created to ensure that any route with a cut has the potential to get open against this coverage. Man press is a two part battle and it all starts with the chuck. Using a slant as an example, when the receiver wins, he’ll successfully fight off the corner to gain inside leverage. Just like previous years, this part of the interaction is dictated by “Press” and “Release” ratings. The second portion of this change is the cut move. In the case of a slant, if the receiver wins here, he’ll get enough separation when he cuts toward the middle of the field for the quarterback to complete the throw. How often the receiver wins the cut is still based off of “Route Running” ability versus the corner’s “Man Coverage.” Keep in mind that a receiver who loses the chuck can still win on the cut, and vice versa. Also, just as you can use any route with a cut to beat man now, routes that seemed to get open more often before can easily get locked down. This places an emphasis on a player’s ability to quickly recognize if there’s enough space following the cut to zip the pass to their guy. The new man coverage system overall results in it being more balanced and true to ratings in Madden NFL 17.

Codemasters have just announced F1 2016, scheduled to arrive later this summer for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. A new career mode has been added this year, spanning 10 seasons. The game will also feature the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan, home of the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe, along with the introduction of the iconic Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car. More details on the game are coming in the next few weeks.

“F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons. A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life.”

For the first time, the practice development programme allows you to take advantage of the tests done by the teams on a grand prix weekend. F1 2016 Cover Art

In the new career mode, you’ll be able to select an avatar to represent you within the game world, as well as choose a number to take with you through your career. You’ll be able to single out the helmet for you, and colour it however you choose. You’re then free to choose from any of the FORMULA ONE teams, all with different goals and expectations. You might decide to go down the more challenging route and start further down the grid, but it will also be easier to exceed your team’s expectations. You can earn contracts and move from team to team, or choose to develop your favourite team into a championship contender.

To complement the on-track experience, and to expand the realism of the Career mode, we’ve included stunning hospitality areas for each team that will act as your game hub. In this area you’ll work with our new, fully captured and voice-acted Research and Development Engineer and Player Agent to develop your progress both on and off the track. Earn Research and Development credits from all your sessions, from practice, to qualifying and the race, to spend on upgrading your car, and get ahead of the teams around you. To make it even more immersive, you’ll also be able to spot other key figures from the paddock within the hospitality areas.

Check out the latest Madden NFL 17 blog covering updates within special teams, pass defense, catch outcomes, ball physics and much more. Read it and post your thoughts!

Quote:
First off, we received many complaints that all players were capable of making spectacular catches. We got it loud and clear that you were getting tired of seeing all the one-handers by a litany of different players with vastly different catching abilities. We now restrict those extremely athletic, high degree of difficulty catches to the more elite ball in air receivers only. OBJ, Julio, A.B., Hopkins and Dez are the type of players who will have the ability to do those spectacular catches consistently, while a Running Back or Slot receiver will trigger a catch that is more reflective of his catching ability.

The lack of control options on defense to effectively defend the aggressive catch became a major point of contention throughout the year. We spent a lot of time discussing this specific issue with the community and decided that the right way to attack the problem was not to nerf the aggressive catch, but rather build an effective counter mechanic on defense. Thus, the new SWAT mechanic was born for Madden NFL 17. Defenders now have 3 options when the ball is in the air. Play Ball, Play Receiver or Swat. If you are willing to give up the chance for an interception in order to stop the shot play, the swat mechanic is for you. It has been custom designed as the counter to the aggressive catch on defense.

A huge legacy flaw in the Madden catch system is once a player has ‘matched a catch’ the ball will stay in the receiver’s hands regardless. With ball physics, if a defender collides with the ball during the catch animation, the ball has a chance to be organically knocked out. This also applies to hands and limbs. If they get an arm between the ball and the receiver, the WR will no longer be able to pull the ball through the defender. This is quite a game changer for catches in traffic, and strategic use of the possession catch is critical.

Fumble recoveries in Madden have been one of the many long standing legacy issues that desperately needed attention. We knew by introducing ball physics and organic behaviors, we would need to completely revisit our loose ball and tip ball recovery logic. This includes a set of new animations for loose ball recoveries that cover both in air and on ground scenarios. Players are smarter, react to loose balls faster and have tons of new animations dedicated to loose ball recoveries.

Throw out of sack is how Madden has previously handled situations where a defender triggered a sack animation on a QB who already started his throwing motion. In these cases, the ball would often appear to simply fall out of his hand as the sack animation triggered. With ball physics, we now have organic outcomes in these situations. They can result in fumbles and strip sacks. If the QB’s arm is going forward when he is hit, you are also going to see that outcome play out organically. This all plays a big role in fumble vs. incomplete pass. It is now more important than ever to get the ball out quickly under pressure.

Check out the latest Madden NFL 17 blog going over the improvements on zone coverage with the addition of a new technology called "Behavior Coordinator". Read it and post your thoughts!

Quote:
Moving to a new AI architecture meant our underneath zone coverage logic had to be completely rewritten from scratch. We consulted with NFL coaches and players to get a thorough understanding of the various coverage concepts, rules for each player’s assignment, and techniques players use in order to carry out their assignments. This resulted in the creation of ten new zone coverage assignments that can be used to create a variety of coverage concepts (Cover 3 Match, Cover 2 Carry, etc.)

Each new zone coverage assignment has rules and logic in place with the idea that they’ll be used in specific coverages. So in essence, each player in a given coverage concept has knowledge of a global scheme and how everyone’s assignment fits into the scheme. Each player having a global knowledge of the scheme gives them the ability to make “Progression Reads” aka “Pattern Reading/Pattern Matching”. Before we get into the nuts and bolts of Progression Reads for the zone defenders, here’s a high level overview of the new zone coverage assignments.

As mentioned earlier, prior to Madden NFL 17, we had three underneath zone coverage assignments. That number has jumped to ten. In addition to the new zones, the on field Coach Cam art has been updated as well. Each underneath zone has the name in text inside the zone art. This is to give users a clear understanding as to which new zone assignment is being used in each play. The following is a list of the new zone assignments as well as a high level overview of what they are and where they’re used.

I've talked candidly how about MLB The Show needs to continue to push itself to expand its gaming gap in both directions -- creating more separation from games on the rise like Madden and NHL, but also close the gap on the NBA 2K series. One of the ways The Show team can do that is by implementing a meaningful badge system similar to what NBA 2K has, allowing for SCEA to expand on the player personality and morale system introduced in MLB The Show 16. The beauty of the badge system NBA 2K is that the badges aren't just visual eye candy; they actually have an impact on a player's performance.

While this is not an exact top 10 list -- instead just an assortment -- here are a few badges that would add some uniqueness to perhaps otherwise similar players, thus providing more variety in franchise mode and online play.
