Bigben and Kylotonn Racing Games have announced WRC 6, scheduled to release in the fall for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The game features all 14 rounds of the 2016 WRC season, including for the first time Rally China, all the star WRC drivers and also a wide selection of WRC 2 teams and competitors from the Junior WRC category.
Read the full press release below.
After the success and the experience gained by Kylotonn Racing Games with WRC 5, the studio collected all the feedback from the community to improve the 2016 version of the game, and raise the WRC experience on consoles to a new level of realism and excitement. As its first rally game, WRC 5 was a big challenge for Kylotonn and its team of passionate developers which is now working on this new edition, with the help of an active community of racing gamers and WRC fans.
“We spent the last 8 months, since the release of WRC 5, collecting and studying all the feedback from the community to improve the experience and take it to a new level” says Alain Jarniou, Game Director at Kylotonn. “The experience gained from WRC 5 helped the team to completely understand the expectations of racing fans when it comes to rallying. Roads were too wide in WRC 5? They will be narrower and more bumpy in WRC 6. Stages were sometimes too short? We created new longer stages and reworked everything to make them longer and more challenging. These are just a few examples of the massive improvements we are bringing to WRC 6 and we already know that players will definitely appreciate these changes”, concludes Alain Jarniou.
Danger and diversity are at the heart of the World Rally Championship and WRC 6 will be the best way to feel the excitement of being in the boots of a real driver among some of the toughest conditions around the world. WRC 6 will bring a batch of new features to be announced in the coming weeks but it also takes advantage of new development tools which will increase graphics and audio perception for the players. E3 2016 in Los Angeles (June 14th – 16th) will be a first occasion to discover more about WRC 6 thanks to an impressive setup.
WRC Promoter managing director Oliver Ciesla said WRC 6 would provide an even more realistic challenge for gamers.
“If you enjoyed WRC 5, then you will love WRC 6,” he said. “The developers have introduced significant improvements to make the playing experience even more exciting and true to life, while remaining faithful to its core aims of being an all-action game which takes in classic rallies and legendary special stages on all types of road surfaces.”
WRC 6 will feature all 14 rounds of the 2016 WRC season, including for the first time Rally China, all the star WRC drivers and also a wide selection of WRC 2 teams and competitors from the Junior WRC category. eSports WRC, the first international online competition of the WRC, which was launched in January 2016 with WRC 5, will continue in WRC 6 with amendments in terms of access, rules, and format which will be unveiled nearer the release of the game.
WRC 6 will be available this autumn for PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC/Steam.

In the lead up to the launch of the most lifelike cricket game ever designed, Don Bradman Cricket 17, Home Entertainment Suppliers Pty Ltd (HES) and video game developer, Big Ant Studios, have today announced that the successor to Don Bradman Cricket 14 shall be released later this year and that fans can get a taste of the action from today with the free Don Bradman Cricket Academy available now.
The Don Bradman Cricket Academy application allows gamers to build their dream cricket team and get prepped for the big competition when the full Don Bradman Cricket 17 game launches in December 2016. After downloading the Don Bradman Cricket Academy application, gamers will be able to create and customise their players with an unprecedented level of control.
Don Bradman Cricket 17 features a new lighting system that creates the most true-to-life characters yet, photo realistic skin tones, and 30 per cent more controls than in the predecessor for gamers to further refine their players. For the first time, gamers will be able to give their players tattoos enabling them to recreate their cricketing heroes and local club into the game with complete precision for the first time. Importing cricket players from the previous Don Bradman Cricket title also allows a seamless transition to the new Don Bradman Cricket 17 game for veterans making the upgrade.
Ross Symons, CEO of Big Ant Studios, said, “The first Don Bradman Cricket got us off to a great start, providing players with an authentic, exciting game of cricket that allowed them to feel like they were standing in the middle of the oval, right on the pitch. Now, we’re taking that realism further with the advanced new engine we have developed this year. The impending release of the Don Bradman Cricket Academy will give players a taste of just how far things have come.”
The Academy will also give gamers a sense of what the final Don Bradman Cricket 17 will look and feel like with its new engine, as Big Ant Studios will continue to update the application in the lead up to the big release, including the addition of playable content.
“Cricket is a sport that is loved across the globe and works so well as a video game. We are absolutely committed to growing the game and giving players the best possible cricket experience possible,” Symons said.
The release of Don Bradman Cricket 17 in December on PlayStation4, Xbox One and PC will allow cricket fans to get stuck right into their sport right in the heat of the season. “Home Entertainment Suppliers is proud to be publishing the most authentic and realistic cricket game that we have ever seen,” Sebastian Giompaolo, Managing Director for HES, said. “This game is bigger and better than the previous release in every way, and we look forward to sharing more details about innovations to the cricket genre in the lead up to its release.

I've talked candidly how about MLB The Show needs to continue to push itself to expand its gaming gap in both directions -- creating more separation from games on the rise like Madden and NHL, but also close the gap on the NBA 2K series. One of the ways The Show team can do that is by implementing a meaningful badge system similar to what NBA 2K has, allowing for SCEA to expand on the player personality and morale system introduced in MLB The Show 16. The beauty of the badge system NBA 2K is that the badges aren't just visual eye candy; they actually have an impact on a player's performance.
While this is not an exact top 10 list -- instead just an assortment -- here are a few badges that would add some uniqueness to perhaps otherwise similar players, thus providing more variety in franchise mode and online play.
